Ranveer singh donned a new look for “Ram Leela”


The rising star Ranveer Singh is donning a new look for his upcoming Hindi romantic-drama Ram Leela which is being directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Ranveer Singh along with Deepika Padukone as the eponymous leads. This movie is said to be an adaptation of Shakespeare’s heroic love story Romeo and Juliet set in violent times.This film will be released on 15th of November.

Ram Leela is initially being shot in Mumbai and some sequences of this movie were shot in Udaipur notably at Udaipur palace and Gangaur Ghat where a song sequence was made. This film is set in Gujarat and in Udaipur, Ranveer Singh shot a song sequence in frosty cold water for about 45 minutes. Deepika was injured on set, anyway had to continue shooting as an expensive set was put up at Film City for a song.

After many shots by Bhansali to work with Kareena Kapoor had failed. The kapoor girl was initially signed on for Ram Leela, nevertheless walked out of the film citing date and monetary issues. Allegedly, Priyanka Chopra was cast as a commutation, though she was also replaced due to unknown reasons. Padukone was finally signed on for the film in August 2012. Singh will be playing a Gujarati boy, so he had to learn some Gujarati abuses as well as gain muscle for his character in the film.

First look of the film shows Padukone sporting a 30 kg ghaghra with a 50 metre ‘ghera’. Gangs of Wasseypur fame “Richa Chadda” also signed on to play an important role in the film, and whereas Shweta Salve plays a supporting role opposite Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the designer of the movie, who previously worked with Bhansali in Black was hired initially for the costumes of the leading lady was later replaced by Anju Modi due to creative differences. The film is all set to release on 15th of November and the fans are eagerly waiting for it.
