Plot : The story is based on Indo-Pak partition. Partition locales emerge in flashback episode. How hero is connected to partition is the crux of the story. This movie is featured high end visual effects. The complete last 40 minutes of the movie will entirely feature visual effects. It is broadly gossiped in the Telugu film circles that Sahasam will have the best visual effects. The audience would have never watched such a world class VFX till now in Telugu films. The scenes which are shot in Ladakh are the highlight of movie.
Music : Music director Shri made comeback with Sahasam. Just 2 songs have been comprised in the movie. The two songs in this film are also situation based and in flow with the movie. Re-recording has great importance and Sri is said to have done the job pretty splendidly.
What’s good? : Gopichand excels in the role of Goutham. He has done a very good action sequences and his body language is flawless for that role. Tapsee is simply fine in this film as a devout and slightly simple young woman. Ali amuses to a certain extent as Qayamat Raju.
What’s bad : Few cinematic liberties have been taken, like,a Hyderabadi security guard gets to sneak into the residence of a dreaded Pakistani terrorist with sheer relieve and impunity. The affective severity in the film keeps dipping at times.
Overall : This movie is not your average Telugu cinema. The intrigue, the setting and the execution are very fresh and novel. Splendid cinematography, nice action sequences and some stirring moments are big assets for the movie. On the cheeky side, lack of conventional ‘commercial elements’ might hinder the film in B and C centers. You can securely watch this movie for some desi moments.
